The interest in becoming a trained and licensed court interpreter began since I arrived to the United States in 2007. I was often in situations where I was asked to interpret for someone who only spoke Spanish, or had little knowledge of English. I like helping others, so I never hesitated to jump right in and do my best. However, there is a lot more than just knowing both English and Spanish when it comes to interpreting. I am lucky enough to have great mentors who have trained me to become the Spanish and English interpreter I am today.
I completed the beginner, intermediate and advanced training courses at Austin Community College (ACC), in the years 2011 and 2012. I have been Certified as a Court Interpreter in the State of Texas in the Basic level. I can provide services on legal settings, as well as in community, medical and psychosocial interpreting and translating. Since trained, I have worked as a freelance interpreter for different organizations in Texas and I have travel to other cities to provide this service. I have been asked to volunteer my time, which I love! So don't hesitate to contact me if needed!
